Obituary of Kim Randall Derkatz

It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Kim Derkatz, who passed away peacefully on April 8th, 2025 at the age of 65.
Kim and his beloved wife Donna raised their 3 children in central Alberta, where they preferred to spend their free time camping and quadding with friends. Kim had a love for fishing, hunting or anything outdoors. When it wasn’t hunting season, you could always find Kim driving around the countryside, looking for deer, coyotes, gophers, or any other animal he’d stumble upon. He had a passion for running heavy equipment, and bossing people around, so he spent most of his adult life as a site supervisor for a variety of oilfield jobs, mostly landfill builds and expansions.
Kim will be so missed by his loving wife Donna, his children Jacob (Katy), Austin, Abbey (Brandon) and his favorite of them all, his grandson Beau. As well as his siblings Cindy, Tammy, Trent (Wanda), Trevor (Rhonda), Jodi (Shawn), and numerous nieces and nephews.
Kim was predeceased by both of his parents, Cliff and Thelma Derkatz.
