Michael Kevin Mudrik, known as Kevin his entire life, was the first son born to Alex and Sheila (Mathews) Mudrik on December 16, 1961. He grew up on the farm near Pathlow. Kevin loved life on the farm. He enjoyed the animals and the space, as well as the opportunities for adventure and tinkering in the shop with his dad.
Kevin graduated from high school in Melfort in 1979. After high school he worked as an apprentice in home construction before joining the team at Bourgault Industries in St. Brieux. In 1991, after working for 11 years at Bourgault Industries, he became one of the original seven who started with Bourgault Tillage Tools. Kevin was one of the managing partners and accountant. He was committed to the company and enjoyed his time at the office, but more than that, he loved the people he worked with and the shared vision of helping to create a better and more sustainable world.
On July 31, 1993 Kevin married the love of his life and most trusted confidante, Jacqueline Fagnou. It was not hard to imagine what caught Kevin’s eye when he asked Jacquie to be his wife. Her zest for adventure and life outdoors, her creative genius as well as her appreciation for the results of hard work were just some of the qualities he admired. After they were married, Kevin and Jacquie lived in the town of St. Brieux for a few years, but they both longed to be on a farm with the space for outdoor adventures and creative pursuits. They wanted their children to have the freedom they appreciated so much from their formative years. So, they purchased a parcel of land a mile east of town. Together, they cleared bush, moved rocks and built the home of their dreams. This was the perfect home for their three lively boys, who all have been instilled with Kevin’s strongest values of love for his family, strong work ethic, commitment to his community, sense of adventure and a true appreciation for nature and the outdoors.
Throughout his adult life, Kevin dedicated time and energy to his community. He believed strongly in supporting local and in volunteerism. Some examples are that he was a committed member of the Recreation Centre board, devoted countless hours to St. John Bosco Camp and he spent more years as an engaged member and chair of the St. Brieux Regional Park and Golf Course board than anyone knows for sure. Kevin could always be counted on to help out where his skills and resources were needed for the school, the museum and other local groups. One more example of his expression of love for community and rural Saskatchewan is the “Plan It Like Your 20” adventure group who explored small towns and finding the hidden gems of our province.
Kevin will be painfully and lovingly missed by: his partner in life, Jacquie, his three adventure-loving boys, Joseph (Grace), David (Hassel), Jason Jack (Tiegan); his grandson, Alexander who made Grandpa Kevin so proud; his siblings Shauneen (Shawn), Maureen, Donnalyn (John), Val (Brian), Daren (Sheri), Chad (Theresa); his mother-in-law, Margaret Fagnou; brother-in-law Robert (Laura), sister-in-law Joanne (Lanny); a number of aunts and uncles; numerous nieces and nephews that all knew Uncle Kevin as the fun uncle; too many friends to count with many of them being life-long friendships. Kevin was a kind-hearted and loving man whose loss will leave an ache for all who benefited from having him in their lives.

inner strength and peace.” - Socrates
