Obituary
Kenneth Tegstrom Funeral Kenneth Lyle Tegstrom was born in Melfort on August 30, 1946 to parents Ole and Evelyn Tegstrom. He attended Pine Bluff School as a young boy, finishing his schooling in Kinistino. He had various jobs throughout his twenties but would always come back home to help on the family farm. Eventually his love for farming brought him back home full time. On February 23, 1974 he married Brenda Pedersen. They have 3 children, Rod, Preston and Kendra. He worked away some winters until he decided to get into cattle as well, over the years he raised many purebred black angus. He enjoyed building his herd, and was proud to see some of his bloodlines in online cattle auctions this summer. He loved sharing the farm with his kids and grandkids, it will always be a place of many special memories. They built a house and moved to town in 2018, which allowed them to be closer to friends and family. Ken’s love for the farm had to compete with his love of the outdoors, hunting, and fishing. He spent decades in the old hunting bus with close friends, eating way more raw garlic than people probably should. In the later years he taught Paiton to shoot and when she was old enough, they went on their own kind of hunts. Ken and his dad built the cabin at Jan Lake in 1976, and the family spent as much time as they could there. In recent years, him, Brenda, and Kendra spent 5 weeks camping there every summer, looking forward to when Leonard, Paiton, and Aidyn could join them. They were happy to have many friends and relatives come to visit over the years. His love of fishing will definitely be carried on by Kendra and Leonard, but the grandkids have never been quite as enthusiastic! Ken had a major love of music, learning to play guitar at a young age and picking up the drums and singing harmony a bit later. He played with The Comets and The Venturaz, playing gigs all over the northeast. There was always country music on the radio, whether it was at home, in the tractor, or in the boat. His foot was always tapping along to the beat, even at the end. He passed away peacefully at the Victoria Hospital in Prince Albert after a brief but courageous battle with Burkitt’s lymphoma, and he is so terribly missed already. He will be lovingly remembered by his wife of 47 years, Brenda; and their children: Rod (Tyra); Preston; Kendra (Leonard) Grandchildren; Pation & Aidyn; Travin & Mik Sisters, Maureen Robertson- Ryan (Celina); Colleen (David) Fan- Helton (Celeste), Jenna. Sister in laws: Bonnie (Barry)- Roberts-Jordan, Matthew (Ashley), Josh; Judy (Marc) Francon- Brad, Devin (Drew), Brennen As well as numerous relatives and friends. He was predeceased by his parents; Ole and Evelyn Tegstrom; Mother and father-in-law- Carl and Elsie Pedersen; Brother-in-law; Neville Robertson.
