Obituary
Gary Ross Taylor was born to Lillian & Mervyn Taylor on March 14, 1944 at the Melfort Hospital. Gary was the second of four sons. Gary took his schooling in Taylorside district and went into the logging industry. Gary met the love of his life, Elaine Thoresen, in 1966 and they married on January 5, 1968. Gary held various jobs, but it soon became clear that he didn’t like working for other people. He bought a CAT D7-17A and struck out on his own, building roads, digging dugouts, and bulldozing trees. Gary was also proud to have served as the Reeve of R.M. of Kinistino for several years. Gary and Elaine adopted their son Kevin in the fall of 1987. Kevin has fond memories of the playhouse Gary built for him, the trips to the lakes for fishing, watching Dad work and learning about what he was doing. Gary loved the outdoors and spent as much time there as he could. Gary was also always busy, right up until his health failed him. In his retirement, he took to building the frames of cabins and houses that other people could purchase and finish to their liking. Gary also had a close relationship with God. He had accepted the living grace of God as a child. Gary came to understand the Holy Spirit in the early 1980s and was always concerned for the young people of society. He understood what it was like to go astray and then to be forgiven by the Lord. Gary passed away on the morning of February 7, 2018. Left to mourn Gary’s passing are his beloved wife of 50 years, Elaine, his son Kevin (Carlea), grandsons Eli and Gavin, and brothers Clarence, Bunny (Gloria) , and Garth (Jean), as well as his family , relatives, and friends. Gary was predeceased by his parents, Lillian and Mervyn Taylor, and his sister in law Yvonne Taylor.
