Carol was born the second of four daughters, to John and Nellie Jeffery, on July 4, 1941, and was called home on February 24, 2017. Carol attended school in Melfort, and enjoyed figure skating, swimming, and Majorettes, leading the Melfort Parade in the 1955 Jubilee Year. Carol was baptized and confirmed at the Melfort United Church and was later involved in Carrot River Valley Lutheran Church as a Sunday School Teacher, youth leader and choir member. She started working at Beeson’s Bookstore and continued there until she married Rodney and became a farm wife in 1964. Never having lived on a farm before, she was determined to succeed and learned how to drive a grain truck and tractor, and how to feed the cows. But milking them was out of the question! Rodney and Carol were blessed with 2 children. Lee-Ann, and then Jeff 2 years later. She loved her career as a full-time mom. Carol’s love of gardening and tending her extensive flowerbeds led to her purchasing Mel-City Florists in 1982 with her daughter Lee-Ann. She loved hosting family get togethers, especially Christmas Eve, cooking and decorating to ensure special memories for everyone. Camping was particularly enjoyable, whether it was a picnic in the backyard, a daytrip to the Pines, or a week at the lake. She loved sitting by the campfire enjoying the peacefulness of the great outdoors. Traveling with Rodney to Europe, Cuba, Disneyland and especially Mexico made for many wonderful memories. One of Carol’s greatest joys in life was when she became a grandma. “Dappy” cherished the moments she could drop everything to spend time with her grandchildren. She was so proud, bragging about them to anyone who would listen. Carol is lovingly remembered by her husband Rodney of 53 years; daughter Lee-Ann (Wayne) Love and their children Emma (Ben) Morris and Benjamin (Joanna Small) Love; son Jeff (Marla) Pederson and their children Ty, Layne and Kelsey. She is also survived by her sisters; Lee (Kolly) Mjolid and Judy Isbister, Brother-in-law Wayne (Lisa) Janzen, Eldon (Lynn) Pederson and Miriam (John) Gabrysh. Numerous nieces, nephews and their families, cousins & friends. Carol was pre-deceased by her parents John and Nellie Jeffery, sister & brother-in-law Gloria & Jan Seitz, parents-in-law Orville & Evelyn Pederson and sister-in-law Eunice Janzen.
