Evelyn May Childs passed away peacefully at the age of 102 on Monday, March 9, 2020 at the Care Centre in Vegreville, Alberta. Evelyn was the second daughter born to Ernest and Ella Palmer on the family homestead near Brooksby, Saskatchewan. She attended Norwood School from Grade One to Grade Three and Willow Valley School from Grade Four to Grade Ten. In 1940 she married Fred Charles Childs at the Saint James Anglican Church at Norwood. They lived on a farm north of Brooksby until 1980 when they moved to Melfort, Saskatchewan. Evelyn was an active member of the Eastern Star in Melfort, until she moved to Vegreville, Alberta in 2008. She was predeceased by her husband, Fred in 2005, son Glen in 2016, her sister Joyce, brothers Charlie, George and Albert. She leaves to morn her loss, her sons, Archie (Velma), George (Lynda) and daughter-in-law, Melinda, six grandchildren and seven great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.
