Obituary
Sylvia was born February 11, 1948 at her parents home in Prince Albert, Saskatchewan.
She had a very unsettled life as there were many moves, so school was very difficult, she sometimes changed two schools in one year. Sylvia did lots of babysitting as her mother was in very poor health.
She was married in 1965 to Wes Petterson. They were blessed with two children, their son was born premature weighing only 3lbs 6oz. He was deaf so he attended to the School for the deaf at 8 years of age. The second child Karen always stayed close to home and had a close bond with her brother and her mother. She was killed in a car accident leaving a son for Sylvia & Wes to raise.
Sylvia worked at a few jobs after she got married. She worked with Home Care, which gave her great enjoyment helping the elderly. As Home Care changed she started working at the Kinistino Hospital and the Jubilee Lodge. She worked for 30 years in the Health Care System.
Sylvia was diagnosed with cancer in 1997. After treatments she returned to work. When her Cancer returned she was forced to retire.
Spending her remaining days taking any medical help she could get. Sylvia was predeased by her daughter Karen and her parents Edward and Gunda Arp. Her in-laws Johannes and Hilda Petterson, Grandparents, Uncles and Aunts.
She is survived by her husband, son and grandson. Six sisters, two brothers, four sister-in-laws and six brother-in-laws.
Many nieces, nephews, aunts and uncles.
