Obituary
James Andrew Trembley was born on May 23, 1927 to Ora John Trembley and Ethel Phyllis Trembley (Cook) in Bredenbury, Sask.
He died on April 13, 2017 at Parkland Place in Melfort, Sask.
Jim was the third of four sons: Frank (1918), Hugh (1920) and Bruce (1929).
Jim attended the College of Pharmacy in Saskatoon graduating as a licensed pharmacist in 1949. He returned to the University of Sask. in Saskatoon in 1952 to finish his B.A. and to study theology at St. Andrew’s College. He graduated and was ordained as a United Church Minister in 1957. He served at Simpson -Imperial and Rouleau – Wilcox pastoral charges.
In 1966 Jim began social work in Moose Jaw, working there until the fall of 1971 when he attended the University of Waterloo Lutheran School of Social Work. He graduated with a Master’s Degree in May 1973.
Jim married Noreen Brown on July 9, 1955. They had three children: Robert (1958), Douglas (1960) and Alison (1964).
The family moved to Melfort in 1973. Jim worked for the Government of Sask. as a social worker until his retirement in May 1992. He had a long and happy retirement in Melfort doing volunteer work for many different organizations.
Jim was a talented musician (voice and violin) and an enthusiastic golfer.
Jim is lovingly remembered by his wife Noreen; children Rob (Carla), Doug (Co-co) and Alison (Russ); grandchildren: Carlee and Connor Trembley, Alex and Katie Boucher; brother Bruce (Ollie); sisters-in-law Glenda Halyk, Jean Gaetz (Al), Kathy Beatty (Larry), Nancy Brown (John Brown) and numerous nieces and nephews.
Jim was a good, kind and loving man. He touched many lives and will be sorely missed.
