Obituary
(Murray) Dale Kellington was born on August 20, 1949 to Gertie and Ted Kellington of Melfort SK. He was the youngest of four children. Dale attended school, raised his family, worked for the Saskatchewan Liquor and Gaming Association and enjoyed life to the fullest in Melfort. Dale passed away peacefully surrounded by family on June 9 at the Royal University Hospital in Saskatoon at the age of 67 years. Family meant everything to Dale. Dale married Judy in 1971. Dale and Judy were devoted partners in life who truly enjoyed each other's company. They delighted in raising their two children, Lyndsay and Jonathan. Creating strong family traditions of eating together, celebrating the holidays, partaking in epic family trips to Waskesui and skiing in the mountains were the foundation of their family. Dale's legacy of being a family man has been passed onto his four grandchildren. He was never happier than when he was with Abbey, Carsyn, Jake and Heidi. Dale embraced the titles of "Black Papa" and "Goofy Grandpa" and truly believed there was no better privilege than being a grandparent. Dale had a passion for making the most of every moment. He had countless interests, hobbies and talents. Playing ball, hockey, tennis, downhill skiing, riding bikes and lifting weights were his favorite sports. He was a talented cook, gardener, artist and "car detailer" too. Another talent of Dale's was his ability to light up a room with fun and laughter. Dale found time each and every day to do the things that he loved to do, not a moment was wasted. Dale is lovingly remembered by his wife, Judy of 45 years, daughter Lyndsay (Kevin) and their children Abbey and Carsyn and son Jonathan (Ember) and their children Jake and Heidi. Also left to remember are his brother Jack Kellington (Jan), sister-in-law Sylvia Kellington, mother-in-law Kay Jones, sister-in-law Kathie Jones and countless nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. You are welcome to join the family in wearing casual attire and sunglasses to the Celebration of Life Service. The family would like to thank you for your many kindnesses in thought and deed.Memorial contributions in memory of Dale may be directed to the Jim Pattison Children's Hospital - NICU.
