Obituary
Larry Douglas Edin was born February 6, 1938 in Melfort, Sask. He grew up on the family farm in the Brockington area. He took his education at Pine Bluff School. At the age of 16 he went to BC to work. After a few months he returned home to help his Mom on the farm. In 1957 the family moved to Melfort. Larry worked at various jobs, including painting elevators and all types of construction work. He started "Larry’s Construction" in 1972. Larry did it all: concrete, framing houses, finishing houses and everything in between. Larry’s work was his passion.
In 1958 he met his sweet heart Marva. Oh, she took his breath away! She honoured him by becoming his wife on July 17, 1959. They had three sons: Rocky, Mark and Wade.
Larry loved the outdoors, hunting, fishing, snowmobiling and quading. In 1975 Larry started building a cabin at Lower Fishing Lake. Marva and Larry spent countless hours there enjoying family and friends. If you stopped in you were probably treated to an L.D. drink. Not only did they spend time at the lake, but they enjoyed traveling to Las Vegas, Hawaii and various places in Mexico.
He retired in 1998, from Larry’s Construction. Ya right! But you can’t keep a good man down. It wasn’t long before he was back. He continued to work at various projects for the next few years.
Larry was predeceased by his parents Harry and Laura, sisters: Marlene, Judy and Shelah.
Left to celebrate Larry’s life is his wife Marva, his children Rocky (Deb), Mark (Colleen), Wade (Paulette). Numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren. His sisters Sharon, Argyle (Fred) and brother Bruce as well as many nieces and nephews.
Memorial contributions in memory of Larry may be directed to the Canadian Cancer Society.
