Alex was born January 24, 1932 to Peter & Helen Rosen at Gronlid, Saskatchewan. Alex attended Freedom School for 91/2 years and Gronlid School for 2 1/2 years. He worked for the Post Office for 3 month after finishing high school. He started farming in 1951 on the home farm at Gronlid. He worked as a scaffold man with the Saskatchewan Wheat Pool from 1953 to 1954. He married Diane Ebner on August 4, 1962 at Carmel, Sask. Three sons were born to Alex and Diane, Adrian, Patrick and Kent. He became widowed on February 16, 1974 and remarried Anne Muntain on December 27, 1975. On April 1, 1986 he was hired as a field person with Agricultural Employment Services. He also continued to farm until April of 1999 when he and Anne moved to Melfort. Alex loved everything outdoors including hunting, fishing and berry picking. Also in the last few years he enjoyed gardening and helping mom with the flowers around the house in Melfort. Alex is survived by his loving wife of 42 years Anne, his son Kent (Kara); daughters-in-law Nadine and Cathie. Grandchildren Jennifer, Jeremy, Jessica, Skyler and Jordan. Alex was predeceased by his parents Peter & Helen, his first wife Diane and his sons Adrian and Patrick. Memorial contributions in memory of Alex may be directed to the Melfort Knights of Columbus.
