Obituary
Myrven Ross Taylor born September 10, 1920 slipped peacefully into the presence of his Lord February 24, 2015 with family members at his side. Myrven was born on the home farm the ninth child of Ernest and Mary Taylor; having four sisters and six brothers with only one sister (Jean White) surviving. In his late teens after sitting through a number of Gospel meetings and while talking to Robb Forsyth and Fred Lewis, he accepted the Lord Jesus Christ as his personal saviour. Later he was received into the fellowship of the Taylorside Gospel Assembly where he loved to gather as long as his health permitted. On August 27, 1941 (after courting by horseback) he married Lillian Foy. To this union came four boys Clarence, Gary, Bernard (Bunny) and Garth. This was a marriage made in heaven as it lasted some 71 years. Myrven was born on a farm and lived a farmer all his life. He loved his animals and had a special way with them whether it was horse, mule, donkey, dogs or cattle they all had their own names and got special attention. One of his highlights was when his friends and neighbours would come in unexpectedly for a quick cup of tea, a friendly chat or maybe even a tour of moms doll collection. Nothing fancy but they were always welcomed. Young people brought a lot of joy to him especially his grand kids. He loved them all. He would sit and talk with them making them all feel very special. He was always willing to put the saddle on a horse and give a ride. About five years ago his health began to fail so it was decided he along with mom, would move into Caskey Place. They loved it there as they could still have their visitors and they received wonderful loving care from the people at Homecare. It wasn’t long before they realized they needed 24 hour care so the move to Parkland Place was made. The staff being very caring and helpful made the move easier. This is where Myrven spent the rest of his days. Left to mourn his passing are his beloved family, relatives and friends. Public visitation was held at the Chapel of Melfort Funeral Home on Friday, February 27, 2015 at 7:00 p.m. Funeral service was held at Taylorside Gospel Hall on Saturday, February 28, 2015 at 2:00 p.m. The speaker was Riley Taylor. Interment followed at Beatty Cemetery. Memorial contributions, in memory of Myrven may be directed to a charity of choice.
