VERNARD OLEN ANDREWS ERICKSON late of Parkland Place, Melfort, formerly of Star City, SK passed away on Wednesday September 30, 2015 at Royal University Hospital, Saskatoon at the age of 88 years. Predeceased by his parents: Olaf & Emma Erickson; sisters, Ruby Roy, Mildred Rogers; brothers, Lloyd, Alf, Richard & Ernest; and grandson, Steven Erickson. He is survived by his wife of 66 years, Jean and children: Stewart (Margaret) their daughter Kirsten (Darren) Heilman, and children Taylor, Michael and Hunter; Patty (Harry) Bell, their daughters Stacey and Chelsey (Curtiss) Matson; sisters, Elsie Enefer, Lil Torvik. Vernard was born on October 11, 1926, attended South Star School, married Jean (Stewart) on July 15, 1949 and farmed in the South Star District until 1997 when they retired to Star City. Dad loved the farm life and everyday was a good day to go fishing. He was a long time member of Star City B.P.O.E, loved to dance, and an avid Blue Jay and Rider fan. We will miss his laugh and quick wit, and getting ‘kicked’ at cards. Thank you to Parkland Place staff for the care he received during his time there. Memorial Services were held on Friday October 9, 2015 from the Star City Elks Hall at 10:30 a.m. with Pastor Lisa Skogsrud officiating.
