Obituary
Enid Adeline O’Flanagan (Clark) passed from this life with tears, songs, family and laughter by her side on May 31, 2018. Born August 3, 1931 the second daughter to Myrtle and Leslie Clark. Enid had fond memories of the Daisy School area, weekends with cousins, and her grandparents. Sadly, Enid lost her father at the age of five to diabetes, a month or so before insulin was available on the prairies. This event had a profound affect on Enid’s life path and character. In 1949, she met and married Thomas O’Flanagan, a handsome red head who undoubtably fell for her spunk and chariot driving legs. From this union, eight children were born, six boys and two girls, sadly Paula was a still birth. This was a life experience Enid frequently spoke of, never seeing her young daughter. The first seven children were born in very close succession from 1949-1959, six children under the age of 10! Then, as a proud Canadian, she had her last son in 1967 for Canada’s Centennial celebration. This woman knew what hard work really meant. Enid had a huge heart. Impeccable style, sewing and knitting the latest fashions for her children and self. Her knitting, baking, huge gardens and preserves to fill a root cellar kept her family growing and prospering. A social butterfly by nature, selling Avon for 32 years, working for Statistics Canada, Surveys, a counter lady at the meat market, she could not be stopped, always having her finger on the pulse of Melfort. No one told Enid that she couldn’t do something. She was very proud of her children and the wonderful grandchildren they had. Grandma was always fun, interesting and involved in the lives of her kids and grandchildren. Family wasn’t just anything it was everything. The music, the gatherings, the chaos, old Ennie loved and thrived on. Left to celebrate her life are her children, Thomas, Michele (Mitzi), Michael, Tim, Robert and Terry. Her daughter-in-laws- Deanna Hanson, Linda O’Flanagan, Cynthia O’Flanagan, Valerie Senyk and Cheryl O’Flanagan. Grandchildren; Sean (Nancy, Keenan and Connor) O’Flanagan, Tim (Tina, Seamus, Sydney and Lexi) O’Flanagan, Caitlin and Shannon (Sean) O’Flanagan, Meagan, Jennifer and Kimberly (Trey) O’Flanagan, Clay, Dylan, Jordan and Aurora O’Flanagan. Callum (Jocylen Dotta) Rodya, Finn and Emmett O’Flanagan. Her siblings Joyce, Ken, Bill, Wayne and Faye. Her nieces and nephews all who have fond memories at Aunt Ennies. As well, all that had the benefit of knowing this fantastic woman! Enid meets in paradise, her husband Thomas, his sisters Nora, Sister Paula and Rosemarie and Tom Sr. and mother Margret. Her parents Myrtle and Leslie. Her children, Paula and Patrick and her daughter-in-law Patricia and son-in-law Evan. Bravo!!! Enid Adeline. You were a great gal, you will be missed!!
