George was born in Kinistino on June 28, 1922 to Karl & Josephine Nelson. George took his schooling in Snowden, Sk and Dome Creek, B.C. before serving in World War II. After he was discharged in 1946 he met and married Agnes Elvera Standquist. Together they raised nine children; Diane, Gerald, Larry, Wesley, Douglas, Terry, Marion, Georgette and Kathy. While raising their family they also farmed and later he worked at Lower Fishing Lake and Little Bear until his retirement at age 65. He enjoyed his retirement years travelling and playing cards with anyone who dared to challenge him. George also spent time with his family and grooming his yard home north of Kinistino. His family and yard were two of his greatest prides and joys in life. Unfortunately George lost his true love Agnes on June 29, 1993. He later met and married Muriel Bowler. Together they enjoyed bingo, some travelling and visiting with friends and families. In July 2009 Muriel passed away. George continued to travel around playing endless games of crib and Bingo. Sadly on June 13, 2018 he passed away peacefully with family by his side. George is survived by his children: Diane (Ozzy), Gerald (Linda), Larry (Alice), Wesley (Edith), Douglas (Frances), Terry (Myrna), Marion (Tony), Kathy (Andy). His grandchildren, great grandchildren and great great grandchildren too numerous to name. Brother Oluf as well as many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his parents Karl & Josephine Nelson, wife Agnes, Muriel. His daughter Georgette, grandson Darwyn Pilling, granddaughter Melanie Nelson, great grandson Hunter Nelson, son-in-law George Pilling. Brothers Henry, Melvin and Alfred.
