Velma Ell, age 91 passed away peacefully at the Good Shepherd Villa in Prince Albert, Sask. She was the oldest of five children born to Alex and Maggie McHarg of Melfort, Sask. Velma grew up on the family farm in the Melfort area and in adulthood pursued a career in teaching. She taught in many communities but she and her husband Joe Ell, enjoyed the small town of Shellbrook the best. Together they built their new home there and continued to teach until their retirement. Velma will be loving remembered by many cousins, nieces, nephews, sister-in-law Joyce McHarg and very good friends. She was predeceased by her husband Joe, her parents Alex and Maggie McHarg, her sister Inez, her three brothers, Lyle, Bud and Doug, nephew Hugh McHarg and sisters-in-law Lucy and Lois McHarg. Memorial contributions in memory of Velma may be directed to Palliative Care Rooms C/O Victoria Union Hospital 1200 24th St. West Prince Albert, Sask. S6V 5T4. A Memorial Service will be held and will be announced at a later date.
