Obituary
Hazel Mirella Johnson was born December 18, 1928 and passed away peacefully on January 22, 2015. Hazel was the youngest of ten children, born to Clara and Otto Johnson. Of these ten children, only four survived beyond infancy. This information was discovered when Hazel and Beverly went through the family farmhouse, where Hazel was raised, before it was demolished in the early 80’s. There, in an old chest full of photos, she discovered the Swedish family bible. Her father had written, in Swedish, the birth and death of each child. Hazel had three older brothers to watch over her – Helmer, Ernest and Hjalmer and will now be reunited with them in heaven. In 1949, Hazel married her first love, John Court. Together, they had four children; Colleen ( Jim Truesdell), Wayne, Beverly (Malcolm) McLean and Joanne (Darrell Spink). She has five grandchildren Ashley McLean, Adam McLean (Tamie) and great grandchild Jackson; Callie Przybilla (Josh Montague), Courtni Przybilla (Jordan Penner) and Lacey Przybilla (Devon Parfitt). After John passed away in 1979, Hazel was blessed to find the second love of her life, Jack Coleman. Jack and his five children, Phillip, Susan, Norma, Stuart and Dean became an extended family to love and care for her. Hazel was predeceased by her husband John Court in March of 1979 and her companion Jack Coleman in June of 2012. Hazel’s sassy, spunky personality drew both young and old to her. Her grandchildren and all of their friends kept her youthful. What she gave to others came back to her in abundance. Funeral service was held at St. Andrew's United Church in Kinistino, SK on Wednesday, Janaruy 28, 2014 at 2:00 p.m. with Gladys Court officiating. Interment followed at Kinistino Cemetery. Memorial contributions, in memory of Hazel, may be directed to Kinistino Cemetery Fund.
