Obituary
Please share a memory of Carroll to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
Carroll was born on July 24, 1934 in Melfort, SK to James Barr and Carolyn Elizabeth Aitken. She was the second youngest of six children, raised in a humble country home, not more than a mile from where she lived the rest of her life. Mom attended Carrot River County School, making treasured friendships that last until this day, participating in track and field…a fierce competitor we hear, and excelling in her academic work with much dedication and many coal oil lantern evenings of study. Mom met dad at a young age, and it was love at first sight and forevermore. She married Victor Anderson on her 17th birthday, July 24, 1951 at the Bagley Baptist church followed by a ‘homemade’ reception on the homestead yard where she grew up. How proud she was to tell of scrubbing out the trees and preparing food for their special day. Their marriage was blessed with four children, Keith, Trevor, Lana, and Clinton. We are forevermore blessed to have had such incredible parents. Mom took such comfort and pride in being a homemaker, wife, mom, grandma and great-grandma. She loved life on the farm with dad and raising us kids. Her faith carried her through each day, and her heart was dedicated to both the Bagley Baptist and CRV Lutheran country churches. Mom enjoyed many travels near and far, with dad, with family, with so many dear friends. Mostly she loved ‘Home Sweet Home’. Family and friendships, hospitality for others, the welcome hugs, her acceptance of all, and her genuine interest in each of us are remembered dearly. Always full of love in her own special God-given way. Mom was always creating with her skilled hands. She loved quilting, sewing, crafting, gardening, growing flowers, yard work, embroidering, crocheting, and had recently started painting. Always eager to learn new things, and to help and share what she knew with others. Our faithful, kind, gentle, and loving Carroll has left this earthly home to be with her endearing husband Victor, her first born son Keith, her parents James and Carolyn, her five siblings Eleanor (Clarence), Norma (Stafford), Donald (Lorraine), Margaret (Harold), and Beatrice, sister-in-law Astrid (Verner), brother-in-law Lawrence (Rita), and many precious relatives and friends. Left to cherish her memory are Keith’s children Lisa(Brian) Espenshade – Kaden, Ethan, Bennett/ Jennifer Bracken (Jason Samletzki) – Tayla, Emma, Anthony, Joselyn/ Ryan (Ashley) – Jack, Zoe; Trevor (Penny) James (Annika)-Joshua, Brynn, Luke/ Lindsay (Frank)/ Nicholas (Amanda)-Owen, Eva, Adelaide/Jana (Jeff) Catte – Dillon, Olivia, Laelah, Harper; Lana (Dylan) Roberts, Chelsey (Corey), Matthew (Christine), Cassidy (Eric) ; Clinton (Laurie), Cameron (Kristy)-Daxton/ Brittany (Teagan), as well as brother-in-law Ken…and so many beloved nieces and nephews, cousins, and friends far and wide.
