Marilyn Rose Porter (nee Beaulieu) was born in Kinistino on March 5, 1956 and passed away in the Kinistino Jubilee Lodge surrounded by her family on January 6, 2023 after a lengthy battle with health complications.

Marilyn went to school in Kinistino, then followed her dreams after graduation and went on to become a Registered Nurse at Kelsey (SIAST).  After nursing in Wakaw Hospital, Melfort, Parkland Place and Nirvana, she transitioned to the Long Term Care Sector and was the Director of Care of the Kinistino Jubilee Lodge until her health issues in 1996.  After he health issues began, she left the Lodge for farm life and being a grandparent.  Marilyn met the love of her life, Randy in Kinistino School in 1970, they got married June 17, 1978.  Together they have two children, Tara and Stuart and 6 wonderful granddaughters.  Tara had Leah, Grace and Faith Jones and Stuart had Kaylee, Allie and Kelsey Porter.  Her grands were the light of her life.

Marilyn enjoyed living on the farm, helping in everything her health would allow.  She enjoyed sewing for both large and small.  She was an avid hunter.  She was a talented musician and great in the kitchen.  She spent hours making pies, cookies and meals for the annual fall goose hunt with their American friends, who visited for many years each fall.  Marilyn was a talented painter using canvas, everything from wood and even furniture.  The walls in the house display many, as well as her various other creations.

Marilyn is survived by her husband Randy, her children, her granddaughters and brother Frank (Sharon) Beaulieu.  Nieces Aimee Larson, Lana (Tom) Kasikci, nephews Alis (Janelle) Larson, Brett (Sarah) Beaulieu and Trevor Beaulieu.  Her in laws Roxanne (Richard) Johnson, Roland Porter and Rhonda (John) Reimer as well as a large extended family.

She was predeceased by her parents, Gaston Beaulieu and Helen Hodson, brother Paul Beaulieu and sister Jeannie Larson.

A family interment will take place in the fall.

Memorial contributions in memory of Marilyn may be directed to the Kinistino Jubilee Lodge and or the Canadian Breast Cancer Foundation.
