Velma (Mudrik) Fagnou was born on April 16, 1936 and passed away peacefully on July 31, 2024. She was the 6th child of the 10 born to Mike & Mary (Vedres) Mudrik. The family lived on a farm in the Meskanaw area. When Thelma was eight years of age, they relocated to a farm right outside of Pathlow.
On October 19, 1955 she married Lucien Fagnou. This union was blessed by the welcoming of 3 children – Paul, Ross Edward and Lorraine. Velma was active in her community – Chateau Auxiliary, Catering Club, Sewing Club and Melfort Air Cadet Parent Committee – just to name a few. They moved to the farm in 1964 where they remained until 2005 when they retired to their new home in
St. Brieux.
Velma enjoyed traveling, accompanying Lucien to many locations, including various countries in Europe and Africa, as well as Israel. In 1997 after 23 years of flying they sold the air plane. Velma and Lucien enjoyed many winters traveling to Mexico and the southern states with their 5th wheel camper. Summers were also spent traveling with the Saskatchewan Good Sams Club, making new friends and discovering new horizons.
In 2021, Velma moved to the Chateau Providence and resided there until her passing.
